Departure.

Hey guys,

Long time no blog evidently from my end. Hope everyone is well and elated now that the warm weather has arrived!

So, I will no longer be using this blog as a means for writing or photography, which is why you all should probably hit up my new tumblr, http://lisavargaga.tumblr.com/. I still need to hone my tumblr navigation skills but you can definitely expect daily posts, if not more!

See you there! (or else)

$$$.

Hello world,

Just a quick, albeit photo packed post to relay some updates and misc news. Woah, it's friday, is it ever. My body is tingling with the anticipation of what seems like a promisingly productive, yet simultaneously relaxing weekend. That's the key isn't it? Reminds me of a quote I gravitated towards years ago now about being calm and focused in motion, and alert and intrigued in repose. Dream mentality. Anyways. Just wanted to bring forth the exciting news that I have added a price list (finally) to my website. For all things price oriented, you now have a beacon of light to help you navigate. I love all things user friendly, direct, hands on, and simple. So I'm hoping implementing this gives potential clients all that, and more.

Before I go. Feist's new album is streaming, http://www.listentofeist.com/metals/, I devoured it like sweet dessert. This saturday is Nuit Blanche at the WAG. Be there, be there early, (if you have any recollection of what went down last year you will definitely want to be there early!). I believe that is all.

Stay cool.

My heart is burning.

Hey hey,

Looks like fall has dropped in with a bang, a bang that has caused an increase of orange and yellow in my backyard, and a reason to throw on a sweater at night. Personally I am somewhat relieved this season has preserved it's self, as Fall is absolutely, without a doubt, the most romantic season, as well as a fantastic time for introspection and self reflection.

Speaking of, this fall for moi has been just that. With a relationship hitting it's one year mark and being nothing less than amazing and intoxicating, my thoughts have been doing back handsprings in my head over what the future has in store. I have never felt so grown up, so developed, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, I feel like I could marry this women and be elated for the rest of my life. I like this newly resurrected feeling, (I have admittedly felt like this before, at 16, I grew up fast). But that feeling was quickly lost to certain things, meaning the process was far from completed. Alas, here I am, 22 years young and entirely embracing my destiny. My career, my geography, my girl, myself, and my social circle. I like the momentum I have achieved, and it will only remain and strengthen if I let it. So aside from letting fall dictate your fashion choices, and the beverages you acquire, let it be a time for yourself. Make sure you are happy with your trajectory, and make your decisions intuitively, design your life!!

Also happening in my world. I have been shooting the shit like mad, and quitting the coffee serving job I have been at for the last 1000 days of my life. (A baby would have been born and almost had their 4th birthday in the same amount of time I have been serving coffee to hipsters, terrifying). Don't worry, I can't by a Jag and fly away on a unicorn just yet, I will be charging for my work from now on, I CAN'T BACK DOWN ON THIS. It is imperative or else I will never be able to buy a unicorn (aka pay bills). As nice as I am, money is a life force, an energy, and the more I decline it, the more I avert it. Thus, come one come all, I will happily let you pay for your images.

An article and mini interview was published on me in The Uniter http ://uniter.ca/view/6436/ <<<<<< Read it, it's worth it!

Alright, go get your fall on.

SOS.

Oh haaii guys.

So this post will be a short reflective post providing you with a short yet highly informative synopsis of the left overs of summer. Admittedly I am writing this whilst multitasking (yes, I know, scattered energy), but this is good multitasking. I am watching Portlandia, can someone please come forth and agree with me that this is one of the funniest television shows, like, possibly ever !? Perhaps it's my tastes in completely obscene, blatantly obnoxious, awkward humor that creates a means for me taking an affinity to this masterpiece. So yeah, this show; sign me up.

Anyways, back to the initial train of thought. It's September guys. *Tear, but also, simultaneously, YES* Fall fashion is already causing me heart palpitations at all the possibilities and contrasts and broody tones and beautiful people. So I suppose this entire shift is more so a pro than a con. Plus, Fall is going to be off the hook. So many side projects and personal projects and misc endeavors to embark on, bring it on. So, also, speaking of side projects; this past month a book I am working on found me at a cabin, like, a real live, no drinking water, no showers, "cabin". I have to say, I wholeheartedly enjoyed the experience (albeit multiple internal cries for help), but alas, all in all, I would go back and challenge my metropolis self to live off the grit. Sadly, I can't show you any work from the cabin in agreement that you all have to  wait in anticipation until you pee your pants waiting for this book to release. But I can flaunt some personal work of my pal Hannah. She's tall, drop dead gorgeous, dresses to kill, and photographs stupidly well. Photos below: In the mean time, I am going to continue crushing on Carrie Brownstein, and dream of life in Portland.

Au revoir.

dungeon dragon.

It has been, as of tonight, nearly a week since I returned to the town of tumble weeds and raging prairie from a city of ocean and sky rises and yet I have failed to post a single piece of photographic evidence. But I digress. I have been serving coffee relentlessly thus leaving me little time to shout out silly anecdotes from my trip to Vancouvah, never mind edit and decide which images I want to share with the world. So here is a lazy attempt to satisfy, at least in images, and provide some insight into the amazingness that was our trip.

On a side note, summer's end is approaching, which, lets be honest, SUCKS. But alas comes the moody season we call Fall, allowing for: layering, darker tones and textures, cute backpacks and warm beverages (come get one from me!?), boots and long jackets, leather, leather, did I say leather? And in my case, a much anticipated noticeable mop chop and new body modifications, (maybe).

Also, the title of this post will have more relevance shortly, promise.

Happy August. Stay cool.

Stroll n Snap.

Hey; and happy summer blogger people.

So far my experience with this hip and happy, albeit hot and sweaty season has been nothing less than swell. Lots of late nights on patios red stripe in hand, in the company of fierce ladies or cool men. Lots of pride in the air, lots of shooting, and the occasional coffee serving. I can't believe it is almost over, if you really think about it. But anyways, lets not think like that, there is still another FULL MONTH left, yah. In other news, I am leaving for Vancouver pride in just over a week and will be gone for just over two weeks, to say the at most least, I am PSYCHED.

Pride. Vancouver. The Ocean.

All in the company of my girlfriend.

I suppose an element of nervousness is also accompanying these feelings of elation, but its only the best kind. I recently did a shoot with my beautiful friend Kelsey here in Winnipeg. We strolled one of the more up kept streets in the city playing with the backdrops and changing looks to keep it fashion oriented of course. It was great, I love the walk and shoot concept. I love it when creativity isn't executed strategically or confined within expectation. Try it. Grab a muse and go at er. Below are the shots, tell me what you think, I want all your feedback.

Keep creating.
